Cat's Claw (Uncaria tomentosa), a woody vine named for its claw-shaped thorns, is native to the jungles of South and Central America. The Asháninka Indians refer to Cat's Claw as "god incarnate" and "father of all other forest gods". Peruvian shamans consider Cat's Claw a system balancer as it unblocks the flow of both spiritual and physical energies. Cat's Claw is believed to be beneficial for a myriad of disorders including immune system issues, inflammation, infections, high blood pressure, digestion, and more. This plant is considered worthy of its name as it seems to seek out issues and pounce on them like a cat.
